Niacinamide is a derivative of vitamin B3. It is used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

Vitamin B3 or Niacinamide can be found in cosmetics under various names PP, nicotinamide, or niacin.

1. First of all, its great advantage is that it respects sensitive and dry skin. This gives a chance to use active cosmetics for people who have problems with most products.

2. This ingredient is an agent for special tasks because, apart from dry and sensitive skin, it has a beneficial effect on acne and oily skin.

3. It has an anti-inflammatory effect on acne and oily skin, which helps to calm the raging sebaceous glands. It also reduces the inflammation of acne and lesions.

4. It tightens the pores on the face without drying out the skin. Thanks to this, your face is lined and you have an Insta effect without filters.

5. It works on discolorations by brightening them, directly affecting the blocking of melatonin deposition in the deeper layers of the skin.

Concentration:  Treatments start with products with concentrations from 3% to 5%. We do not recommend using higher rates without consulting a specialist.

10% is only recommended for seborrhea or thick skin.

SPF: It is not photosensitive so you can use it all year round and as a brightening treatment, it is the safest for all skin types.

6. Like retinol, it is a powerful antioxidant. An explanation of this phenomenon can be found in the post about  Antioxydant

7. It strengthens the hydro-lipid barrier of the skin, i.e. it rebuilds the protective layer of our skin. Thanks to this, the skin is moisturized and nourished. There is no water loss from the skin.

Important

1. To start using this ingredient, introduce it slowly into your routine, at first every 2 or 3 days so that the skin can get used to it.

 2. Niacinamide is great to complement the retinol treatment, it will strengthen the skin and reduce the feeling of dryness at the beginning of the retinol treatment.

3. Vit B3 has a high pH, so it cannot be combined with acids or the ascorbic form of vitamin C.

Products should be bought at the pharmacy or from specialists. Always read labels and recommendations for use.
